The StoreWALL Standard Duty 2438mm panel is our most recommended choice for covering a full garage wall. Twice the length of the 1.2m panel, it covers more wall in fewer pieces — fewer joins, faster installation, and better value per square metre. For anyone fitting out a back wall or side wall of a double garage, the 2.4m panel is the practical choice.

Weight Capacity

The 2438mm panel provides double the load distribution of the 1219mm panel because it has twice the number of InstallStrip fixing points (6 points across 2 InstallStrips vs 3 points across 1 InstallStrip). For heavy loads distributed across multiple accessories, the 2.4m panel is the stronger choice per running metre.

Why 2438mm Is the Better Choice for Most Garages

• Fewer joins: 2 x 2.4m panels covers 4.8m of wall with one join. The same coverage in 1.2m panels requires 4 panels and 3 joins. On a finished wall, joins are visible and each is a potential alignment issue.
• Faster installation: fitting 2 InstallStrips per panel across a full wall is significantly faster than fitting 8 InstallStrips across the same area using 1.2m panels.
• Better value per sqm: the 2.4m carton covers 2.96sqm vs 1.48sqm for the 1.2m carton. On a per sqm basis, the 2.4m panel is more cost-effective.
• Stronger load distribution: 6 fixing points per panel vs 3 — more even load distribution across the wall for heavier accessory loads.

The 1219mm panel remains the better choice when walls have obstacles (windows, power points, doors) that require cutting and fitting around, or for shorter walls where a 2.4m panel would require significant cutting.

InstallStrips for 2438mm Panels

Each 2438mm panel requires 2 x Standard Duty InstallStrips. Aim for 6 points of wall contact across the 2 strips — one at each end and two in the middle of each strip. On a stud wall, this means locating 5–6 studs across the 2.4m panel width. On a brick or concrete wall, nail anchors or masonry screws at regular intervals achieve the same result.

Each Standard Duty InstallStrip is 914mm long and can be broken into 609mm or 304mm sections for flexible installation around studs.

Standard Duty 2438mm panels are available in the same 7 colours as the 1219mm range: Weathered Grey, Brite White, Barnwood Grey, Whitewood, Rustic Cedar, Graphite Steel, and Black. Panel Cutting

2438mm panels can be cut to length using a circular saw, jigsaw, drop saw, or multi-tool. We also offer a free panel cutting service — contact us before ordering if you need specific lengths. Note that 2438mm panels are not available as individual panels — the minimum order is a carton of 4. If you require individual panels you will need to contact us directly for a quote.
