StoreWALL Ultra Duty 635mm Surf & Paddle Board Bracket

A purpose-built wall bracket for surfboards, paddleboards, SUPs, and other large flat items that need real depth to hang securely. At 635mm deep — nearly two and a half times the depth of the Ultra Duty Wide Hook — this bracket reaches far enough from the wall that a full-size surfboard or SUP hangs flat without the nose or tail catching the panel face.

The protective coating on the bracket prevents scratches to board surfaces. The 152mm backplate engages four panel grooves for maximum load distribution. Most customers buy in pairs — one bracket per end of the board. CamLok™ pre-installed. Sold as a single bracket.

What the 635mm Surf & Paddle Board Bracket is best for

  • Surfboards — shortboards, longboards, and mid-lengths. The 635mm depth gives the board enough clearance to hang flat without the rails touching the panel. Use two brackets spaced at roughly one-third and two-thirds of the board's length.
  • Stand-up paddleboards (SUPs) — full-size SUPs are long and heavy. Two brackets give even weight distribution and keep the board stable on the wall.
  • Kiteboard and wakeboard — flat boards that benefit from a deep horizontal support rather than hanging by a leash
  • Large flat items — anything wide and flat that needs substantial reach from the wall to hang cleanly

Why 635mm depth matters for surfboards

A standard surfboard is 500–700mm wide at its widest point. If you hang a surfboard on a shallow hook, the board has to angle away from the wall to avoid the rails catching the panel face — it ends up jutting out into the garage rather than hanging flat. The 635mm depth of this bracket means the board's centre of gravity sits well clear of the wall, so it hangs naturally flat and takes up only the board's own thickness in floor clearance.

For comparison, the Ultra Duty Wide Hook is 250mm deep — enough for paddleboards stored with the nose down, but not ideal for a full-size surfboard stored horizontally. This bracket is the right choice when horizontal, flat-against-the-wall storage is the goal.

How to mount for a surfboard

Mount the two brackets horizontally at the same height, spaced at roughly one-third and two-thirds of your board's length. The board rests on the two bracket arms with the deck facing outward (so you can see the board from the garage) or inward (protecting the deck face from dust and light). Add a thin foam sleeve or pool noodle over each bracket arm if you want extra protection for the board's finish — the protective coating on the bracket prevents scratching but foam adds additional cushioning for travel boards.

Ultra Duty Hook Range

  • Ultra Duty Utility Hook — 150mm wide, 381mm deep, 80kg. For kayaks, tyres, and deep-reach storage.
  • Ultra Duty Wide Hook — 330mm wide, 250mm deep, 80kg. For car bike racks, tyres, and broad items.
  • Ultra Duty 635mm Surf & Paddle Board Bracket (this product) — 152mm wide, 635mm deep, 80kg. For surfboards, SUPs, and large flat boards stored horizontally flat against the wall.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need one bracket or two?
Two — one near each end of the board, spaced at roughly one-third and two-thirds of the board's length. A single bracket concentrates all the weight at one point and risks bending or damaging the board over time.

Will it scratch my board?
The bracket has a protective coating that prevents scratching. For extra protection — particularly for glass or epoxy boards — add a foam sleeve or pool noodle section over each bracket arm before resting the board on it.

What's the difference between this and the Ultra Duty Wide Hook?
The Ultra Duty Wide Hook is 250mm deep and 330mm wide — better suited to paddleboards stored nose-down or kayaks. This bracket is 635mm deep and 152mm wide — purpose-built for surfboards and SUPs stored horizontally flat against the wall where depth is the critical measurement.

Do I need Heavy Duty panels?
Heavy Duty or Standard Duty panels installed with InstallStrips are recommended. Without InstallStrips, panel load capacity drops approximately 75% and the bracket's 80kg rated capacity cannot be achieved.

Is it compatible with all StoreWALL panels?
Compatible with Standard Duty, Heavy Duty StoreWALL panels, and MKE Slatwall panels. The CamLok fits the same 76mm on-centre groove pitch across all three.
