StoreWALL Shelves

StoreWALL shelves are designed around a principle most garage shelving ignores: depth matters more than surface area. A shallow shelf forces you to stack items, which means the thing you need is always at the back. StoreWALL shelves are deep enough to store items in a single layer, so everything is visible and accessible immediately. All StoreWALL shelves mount directly to your wall panels via the exclusive CamLok™ locking backplate. This means shelves can be repositioned anywhere on the panel grid without tools — rotate the CamLok, slide the shelf, lock it back in place. No drilling, no patching, no permanent commitments.

Shelf Range Overview

Wire Shelves

StoreWALL wire shelves are manufactured from heavy-gauge industrial steel with a powder-coat finish. The open wire construction prevents dust and debris from accumulating on the shelf surface and allows you to see stored items from below, which matters when shelves are overhead. Wire shelves are available in depths from 190mm to 350mm and in a range of widths to suit different panel configurations. Each shelf locks to the panel via CamLok™ backplates — the shelf will not move, tilt, or detach under load unless you intentionally release it. Suitable for: paint tins, lubricants, automotive fluids, storage tubs, toolboxes, small appliances, and grouped accessories.

Metal Flat Shelves

The 390mm depth Metal Shelf is StoreWALL’s deepest full metal shelf option, built from solid industrial-grade steel with a heavy-duty powder coat finish. At this depth, it comfortably accommodates full-size storage tubs, large tool cases, and multi-litre paint containers standing upright. Like all StoreWALL shelves, the metal flat shelf locks to the panel via CamLok™ backplates for a secure, rattle-free installation. Suitable for: large storage tubs, tool cases, multi-litre containers, small appliances, and heavier items that require a solid surface rather than wire.

Floating Shelves

StoreWALL’s floating shelf range offers a lighter-duty option for garages where aesthetics matter as much as function. Made from durable thermoplastic, these shelves complement the panel colour range and suit lighter loads such as spray cans, small jars, rolled hoses, and safety equipment.

Why CamLok™ Shelves Outperform Standard Slatwall Shelving

Generic slatwall shelves rely on friction-fit hooks that slot into the slatwall groove. Over time, particularly with heavier loads or frequent access, these hooks loosen. The shelf begins to tilt forward, and eventually the front edge drops — often taking the contents with it. StoreWALL shelves use the CamLok™ backplate, a rotary locking mechanism that mechanically secures the shelf to the panel. When locked, the shelf cannot tilt, slide, or lift off the panel without deliberately rotating the CamLok. This is a critical safety feature, especially in households with children.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can StoreWALL shelves be used outdoors or in exposed garages? The powder-coated steel shelves are suitable for covered garage environments. They are not rated for direct weather exposure. In coastal or high-humidity environments, inspect periodically for surface corrosion and apply a protective coating if required. What is the weight rating for StoreWALL shelves? Weight ratings vary by shelf size and the panel/InstallStrip configuration they are mounted on. As a general guide, the panel itself is the primary load-bearing element — refer to your panel specifications for overall system ratings. For specific shelf load data, contact StoreWALL directly. Can shelves be used without wall panels? No. StoreWALL shelves mount exclusively to StoreWALL slatwall panels via CamLok™ backplates. Most PVC slatwall panels supporting a 76mm gauge will also accommodate the CamLok locking mechanism. For MDF based slatwall, you will likely need to remove the CamLok and rely entirely on the top L shaped attachement. Can I adjust shelf position after installation? Yes. Rotating the CamLok™ backplate releases the shelf from the panel, allowing you to slide it to any position on the panel grid and re-lock it. No tools required.
