How it installs — no brackets needed
The rear of the shelf has a hooked lip that slides directly into two adjacent grooves on your slatwall panels. There are no brackets to buy, no CamLok to engage — just slide it in and it rests in place. This makes it quick to reposition anywhere on your wall and easy to remove when you need to.
Because it's not locked in place, it's best used for lighter items in accessible locations rather than overhead storage or high-traffic areas where accidental dislodging would be a problem.
Important note for Heavy Duty panels
On Heavy Duty panels, this shelf must be side-loaded rather than front-loaded. The taller groove profile of HD panels means the shelf hooks differently to how it sits on Standard Duty panels — loading from the side ensures it seats correctly and bears weight safely. If you're using Standard Duty or Basic Duty panels, standard front-loading is fine.
How this compares to the floating plastic and metal shelves
The ledge shelf is shallower (200mm vs 254mm for the plastic shelves, 400mm for the deep metal shelf), lighter in capacity (18kg vs 45kg), and doesn't require brackets. It's the right choice when you want a quick, affordable, repositionable shelf for lighter items — spray cans, small tools, lubricants, cleaning products. For heavier loads or deeper storage, the plastic floating shelf or deep metal shelf are more appropriate.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to buy brackets separately?
No. This shelf hooks directly into the slatwall grooves — no brackets required. This is what distinguishes it from the floating plastic and deep metal shelves, which both require separate brackets.
Will it work on other brands of slatwall?
Yes. The ledge shelf fits any standard 76mm on-centre slatwall panel — not just StoreWALL. If you have an existing slatwall system from another brand with the same groove pitch, this shelf will fit.
Can it be used on Heavy Duty panels?
Yes, but with a modification to how you load it. On Heavy Duty panels the shelf must be side-loaded rather than front-loaded due to the taller HD groove profile. It works correctly when loaded from the side.
Is it lockable?
No. Unlike CamLok accessories, this shelf hooks in but does not lock. It's repositionable easily, but not suitable for overhead storage or locations where being accidentally dislodged would be a hazard.
