How do I install StoreWALL in a shed with no studs?

Yes, you can install StoreWALL in a garden shed, but depending on the shed’s frame design, you may need to add some reinforcing.

If your shed has a frame similar to the photo below—with horizontal rails running across each wall and vertical studs spaced apart—additional support will be required before you can securely mount StoreWALL or any other wall panel system.

Option 1: Add a Plywood Backing

Cover the wall area where you plan to install StoreWALL with plywood or similar sheeting. This creates a flat, solid surface to which you can attach the wall panels or the StoreWALL InstallStrips.

  • Use sheeting that is at least 8mm thick to provide adequate grip and strength for the fasteners.
  • You only need to cover the area where the wall panels will be installed, not the entire wall.

Option 2: Install Vertical Top Hat Rails

Alternatively, you can install Top Hat Rails vertically across the wall. These rails are available at most hardware stores (see photo below).
