StoreWALL Metal Frame Screws - 8g - 30mm (100 Pack)
Self-drilling metal frame screws for fixing StoreWALL InstallStrips to steel stud walls and light metal framing. The self-drilling tip bites directly into mild steel without pre-drilling — one less step, and a clean, secure fixing every time.
These screws are sold separately because most Australian homes have timber stud walls, and the standard 7g × 40mm timber screws included with InstallStrips cover that. If your garage is a steel frame construction, a kit home, or has metal stud partitions, these are the screws you need instead.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to pre-drill into steel studs?
No. These screws have a self-drilling (TEK) point that cuts directly into mild steel without a pilot hole. Drive them with a standard drill/driver on medium speed. If the steel is thick, you may find that a 3.5mm drill bit for pre-drilling may be required.
Can I use these on timber stud walls?
These screws are designed for steel and light metal framing. For timber stud walls, use the standard 7g × 40mm timber screws instead — they're better suited to timber and will give a stronger hold.
What thickness of steel can these drill through?
These are suited to light gauge steel framing (typically 0.5mm–1.2mm), which covers standard residential steel stud construction. For heavier structural steel, you will likely need to pre-drill prior.
Are these included with InstallStrips?
Yes, it is an you can select when ordering your Installstrips separately.
