StoreWALL Standard Duty Garage Wall Panels

If you’re planning a garage storage upgrade, the Standard Duty Wall Panel is where most StoreWALL builds start. Engineered from high-density PVC, these panels are waterproof, impact-resistant, and significantly stronger than the slatwall products available at hardware chains — yet they’re light enough for a single-person installation.

Standard Duty panels are the right choice for most household garages, and workshops. They support an impressive load rating and accept the full range of StoreWALL CamLok™ accessories — hooks, shelves, baskets, brackets, and bike mounts — so your storage system can grow and reconfigure over time without replacing the panels.

Standard Duty vs Heavy Duty: Which Panel is Right for You?

Both panel types accept identical CamLok™ accessories, so your choice comes down to load requirements and wall coverage. Use this guide to decide:

Choose Standard Duty if:

  • You’re storing tools, garden equipment, sports gear, bins, and shelving in a typical double or single garage
  • You want to cover larger wall areas efficiently — the 2438mm length gives 2.96m² per carton of 4 panels versus 1.85m² for a Heavy Duty carton of 4 panels
  • You need the widest colour range (7 options vs 3 for Heavy Duty)
  • Your heaviest individual loads are under 50kg per hook point

Choose Heavy Duty if:

  • You’re storing motorbikes, heavy gym equipment, large ladders, or multiple power tools on a single accessory
  • Your garage doubles as a trade workshop with sustained heavy loads
  • You need the absolute maximum strength rating available in the Australian market

InstallStrip Guidance

InstallStrips are the hidden backbone of a high-performing StoreWALL installation. They anchor the panels to your wall studs or masonry at multiple connection points, which distributes load across the full panel rather than concentrating stress at individual screw points.

Recommended quantities:

  • 1219mm panels: 1 x InstallStrip-SD per panel (4 x InstallStrip-SD per kit)
  • 2438mm panels: 2 x InstallStrip-SD per panel (8 x InstallStrip-SD per kit)

Each 914mm InstallStrip-SD can be cut to 609mm or 304mm sections, allowing you to build to the wall height you require. InstallStrips are sold separately and available in the StoreWALL store.

Colour Range

Standard Duty panels are available in seven colours, giving you flexibility to match your garage aesthetic or create contrast against tools and accessories:

  • Weathered Grey — neutral, industrial, works with any accessory colour
  • Brite White — clean and bright, maximises light reflection in darker garages
  • Barnwood Grey — warm grey with a timber grain texture
  • Whitewood — light timber look, suits contemporary homes
  • Rustic Cedar — warm reddish-brown grain, traditional workshop feel
  • Graphite Steel — dark, sleek, suits high-end or performance garage builds
  • Black — bold and dramatic, creates strong contrast with lighter accessories

What Can You Store on Standard Duty Panels?

  • Garden tools (rakes, spades, hoses, sprayers)
  • Sports equipment (bikes, helmets, balls, bats, racquets)
  • Camping and outdoor gear (chairs, tents, sleeping bags)
  • Paint tins, lubricants, and chemical storage on shelves
  • Kids’ toys and scooters
  • Automotive accessories (ramps, jump starters, cleaning gear)

Frequently Asked Questions

Can Standard Duty panels be installed on brick or rendered walls?

Yes. StoreWALL panels install on all common Australian wall types including plasterboard, brick, besser block, rendered masonry, and Blueboard. For masonry walls, use appropriate anchor nails. See our installation guides for wall-specific advice.

Do I need to paint or seal the panels?

No. StoreWALL panels are manufactured in their final colour and require no painting, sealing, or finishing. The PVC surface is UV-stabilised and can be wiped clean with a damp cloth.

Can I mix Standard and Heavy Duty panels in the same garage?

Yes, and this is a common approach. Many customers use Heavy Duty panels in a dedicated tool or bike zone and Standard Duty panels for the remainder of the wall. All CamLok™ accessories are compatible with both panel types. Due to the different panel height dimensions (304.8mm v 381mm) you can’t combine the two on the same wall section.

How many panels do I need for my garage wall?

Use the StoreWALL Storage Calculator to enter your wall dimensions and get an accurate panel count. As a guide, a standard single-car garage wall of 5.5m x 2.4m requires approximately 14 x 2438mm panels or 30 x 1219mm panels.

What is the warranty on Standard Duty panels?

StoreWALL panels are backed by a 5-year warranty against manufacturing defects.

StoreWALL Standard Duty Garage Wall Panels are ideal for just about every use around the home, garage and even workshop. StoreWALL slatwall panels are waterproof, versatile and significantly stronger than most storage or slatwall panels currently available in Australia.
